The importnat thing with family vacations, or even just spending time as a family, is that you are doing it as a family and even working together (or against each other) to prepare a meal can be fun.  Below are  resources for finding activities that can help keep children occupied and have great ideas for family activities.

Grandparents.com Don’t let the name freak you out, this site is one of the best  for ideas about what to do on vacations.   Everything from factory tours to vacation themes, and searching using your destination will more than likely provide you with something you’ll be interested in.

Family Fun.Go FamilyFun.com is an easy to use site with great ideas for kids of all ages.  More keeping kids busy then family time, but the activities can be enjoyed by all and these ideas are great “Plan B”s for rainy days.

Family TLC Family TLC is probably the easiest site to use and covers activities for kids of all ages.  Activities include Crafts, Science, Cooking, Books, Games and Sports.  Again, more kid oriented then family, but a great “Plan B” site.

Bedtime Stories Sites like Bedtime.com are great!  If you’re looking for bedtime stories, a very nice vacation treat for little kids, you’ll be able to easily find several to suit your needs.

Funology Funology.com has some very cool activities in the areas of physics, chemistry and biology that the whole family will have fun participating in, as well as, the boredom busters.

Mom’s Minivan MomsMinivan.com is just what it says.  If you’re going on a long car trip (or just taking a short flight) with kids  it would probably be worth your while to check this site out.

Family Education.com FamilyEducation.com has some useful “Plan B” suggestions, but also has a lot of useful tools for Moms and Dads.
